NANS AWARD TO Ag. EXECUTIVE SECRETARY

 

AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE PRESENTED TO THE AG. EXECUTIVE SECRETARY BY NANS
The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), on the 21st of March, 2018 presented a NANS Woman Role-Model of the year 2018/An Icon of Excellent Leadership Award on the Ag. Executive Secretary of the Agency, Mrs. Tayo Odumosu on her exceptional works in giving back to the society by touching the lives of people.

Presenting  the  award  at  a  brief  ceremony  that  took  place  at  the  Agency’s  Headquarters, Maitama, the Coordinator of the award, Mr. Ayonikun Fred stated that the award was given in recognition  of  the  role  played  by  the  Ag. Executive  Secretary  in bringing hope to the rural communities  in  her  leadership  style  and  standard.

He stated thus:
“I want to emphasize the crucial role that the recipient has played in the promotion of good sound leadership and corporate feats locally and nation-wide, representing our great nation and our values. Her active participation in bringing hope and life, honours her personality as a worthy social builder”

He  further  added  that  this  award  is  coming  on  the  heels  of  the many impacts  she has created through her public service work, philanthropic  activities  and  in  her  current  assignment.
On NANS commitment to nation building, Mr. Fred said the students’ body promotes good ideas, welfare, and support for students with  interest  in  promoting  a  better  society  in  Nigeria.

In response, the Ag. Executive Secretary, Mrs. Tayo Odumosu thanked the students’ body for the kind gesture and for recognizing good works especially in the direction of Nation building.
She informed the delegation that the Agency was established by the Border Communities Development Agency Establishment Act 2003 further amended in 2006 with the responsibility of developing the border communities spread over 21 States of the Federation.

She stated that the award is a motivation to work harder especially in the development of the Border Communities in line with Government’s current developmental drive by bringing hope and succour to the neglected areas through the provision of socio-infrastructural projects, empowerment, and skills development programs. She also added that the former Executive Secretary laid a good foundation that she and her team will build on and superceed.

Mrs. Odumosu finally advised NANS to embark on Nation building activities especially in adding their voice to the current Administration’s developmental trends in bringing change to the Nation and be good ambassadors of the country.
